Connie L. Skoruppa-McDonald went to be with the Lord, on Friday March 22, 2024. She was born on January 2, 1967, in Victoria, Texas to Barbara Winfree and Robert Skoruppa. She married Bud McDonald August 13, 2005.
Connie was a friend to many, both human as well as feline. She never left a wayward or feral cat unfed or uncared for. Another love, tending habitats for migrating Monarch butterflies. Connie was an incredible picker of antiques in need of restoration. She had great skills at restoring and repurposing home furnishings and furniture.
Connie is survived by her husband Bud McDonald, fur child Ella, mother Barbara Winfree, sister Shawnie Ayers (Jase), brothers George Young and Arron Bates, niece Stephanie Skoruppa, and nephew Mark Skoruppa. She was preceded in death by her beloved granny Edith Skoruppa and father Robert Skoruppa.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 10:00 am at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Ganado, Texas. Words alone are not adequate to thank Connie's close group of family, friends and neighbors who tirelessly cared for her during her final weeks in her Smithville home.
Honorary pallbearers are Gina Naylor-Keeney, Rhonda Johnston, Marilyn Dunn, and Regina Johnston. Donations to defray funeral expenses may be sent to B. McDonald, 183 Deer Run, Smithville, TX 78957 or to a pet rescue of donor's choice. Services are entrusted to the Todish Family of Ganado Funeral Home.
